What is an Energy and Environment Association?
An energy and environment office is a local association, based on the work of volunteers. They are working for the dissemination of knowledge about renewable energy and sustainable development. The local associations organize events to provide free, impartial information and guidance on energy conservation and utilization of renewable energy sources. At the same time the energy associations initiate many energy and environment activities in their local areas. Today there are 21 energy and environment associations in Denmark. The size of the loca1 energy and environment association ranges from 20 to 500 members. The members are mostly local people, but also wind turbine cooperatives, cooperative building societies, firms, farms, folk high schools, etc. The local offices are organized in SEK (Assosiation of Energy Offices) and work in close cooperation with OVE (Organization for Renewable Energy) Updated December 3, 2005 |
